A narrow blade is an idea by a very popular Japanese gardening YouTuber, Kahmen-Kun. It's not easy to prune crowded shrubs like roses, and sometimes dead branches are very hard and could damage pruning shears. With Slim-K, the blade is narrow all the way to the blade tip, so it's easy to aim and cut branches precisely.
